Our Services
We are one of the last full service
tanneries left in the United States.
Yes, we are USDA certified to handle
your safaris.
We also can work with you and your
hunter to save on shipping costs because
we accept wholesale fleshing. We can
then do your wet or dry tanning and we
can also offer you a full rugging
service.
As an example, your hunter can go on a
guided hunt to get his trophy, that
animal can be frozen and shipped
directly to us using our call tag
shipping program. We can wholesale flesh
it for you; arrange to have the skull
cleaned; then tan the hide; and even rug
it including mounting the headshell; all
in one location. This will save you and
your hunter a tremendous amount of money
on shipping costs.

USDA Services
We encourage you and your hunters to
plan the safari with us in advance to
save money. Our affiliated customs
broker will ensure expedited and proper
handling of your trophies. It is a lot
less expensive to ship to one location
for dipping and tanning. Contact us for
a free packet with all the information
you will need. We will gladly accept
orders from any customs broker, dipping
station, or taxidermist for tanning but
we can save you money and hassles with
preplanning.
Wholesale Fleshing Service
Spend your precious time doing what you
do best: The artistry and craftsmanship
of mounting. Let our professionally
trained people STOP ROT, scrape, split,
and turn the lips, noses, ears and then
salt your skins so you can focus on what
you do best. This allows you to make
more money by doing more mounts. We all
know the money in this industry is in
the mounting not the splitting,
scraping, and salting.
We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you mark and
measure your skins with your hunter’s
identification. Then use Stop Rot on a
skin before freezing it. Fold them flat
and freeze. Do not roll because it takes
too long to freeze the core if it is
rolled up in a ball and this allows
bacteria to grow and can lead to slip.
Do not salt and freeze, salt impedes the
freezing. Either salt it dry or freeze
it. Don’t do both.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND OR DROP OFF FROZEN
SKINS FOR WHOLESALE FLESHING WITHOUT
SCHEDULING THROUGH OUR OFFICE FIRST!
After you’ve made an appointment with
our office, shipping of your frozen
items should always take place on
Mondays. Please be sure to read about
our call tag program on our shipping tab
because by using our call tag program
you will have access to special
“perishable” insurance.
Tanning Service
Turn Around time – on North American dry
tan this will vary with the season,
sometimes as little as 2 weeks and other
times it may take up to12 weeks. On
North American wet tan our policy is to
get it done and have it shipping out our
door 4 weeks from the day it arrived or
less!!
Turn Around time – on African dry tan
the turnaround will also vary with the
season. Because African is thicker and
requires extra shaving, the turnaround
normally is 8 weeks but could take as
long as 16 weeks. African wet tan
averages between 6 to 8 weeks.
Wet tan prices are 10% less, this means
huge savings! For example, a life size
Boar dry tan is $265, if you wet tan it
we subtract 10% = $26.50 So the wet tan
life size Boar cost is $238.50 No other
tannery gives you this discount.
Because our wet tan service is done so
quickly, we require a credit card on
file or prepayment so that the skins can
be shipped out on the first Monday they
are ready. This allows us to get the
skins to you as soon as possible so you
may measure and mount or freeze them
until you’re ready.

Skins For Sale

Rugging
Save time and money by shipping it once
and having everything done in 1
location. By using our call tag program
with our special “perishable” insurance,
the trophy can be shipped frozen from
the field directly to us where we can
whole sale flesh, tan, mount the head
and rug it; returning to you a finished
product for your hunter.
Or you can do the scraping, salting,
tanning, and head mount yourself and
just send it to us for rugging.
Our standard rugging includes one
exposed contrast color ruffled felt
border. The felt backing is then trimmed
1” beyond the colored ruffle to give a
double felt trim look. Both ruffled trim
and felt backing are machine sewn onto
the hide. We use ½” polyester batting
and quilt stitches throughout the body
and on all the paws to hold the batting
in place. 5 D-rings will be sewn onto
the back of the rug.
